Programa de Pós-Graduação em

Fisiopatologia Clínica e Experimental

Research Lines

The main objective of the FISCLINEX Graduate Program is to train Health researchers (medical doctors, nutritionists, pharmacists, biologists, physiotherapists, physical educators, psychologists and dentists) in the study of Pathophysiology.

The Program has a dense core of disciplines that coincide with existing research lines in the Pathophysiology of cardiovascular, renal, nervous, endocrine and metabolic, immune systems, including nutrition and development, exercise physiology and human genetics.

In order to train the researcher with a creative, innovative and critical profile, the disciplines that address clinical experimentation protocols have been given high priority, when the methodology of clinical research is introduced to the graduate student.

PHYSIOLOGY AND PHYSIOPATHOLOGY OF THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM – Study of the mechanisms of action of drugs acting on the cardiovascular system and their therapeutic implications.

ENDOCRINE SYSTEM PHYSIOLOGY AND PHYSIOPATHOLOGY – To investigate the pathophysiology of major endocrine diseases and nutritional disorders.

NERVOUS SYSTEM PHYSIOLOGY AND PHYSIOPATHOLOGY – Study of the pathophysiology of neurological diseases integrated with the activities of psychobiology and neurophysiology.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM PHYSIOLOGY AND PHYSIOPATHOLOGY – Investigation of the pathophysiology of respiratory diseases, with emphasis on diagnosis and treatment of patients.

RENAL PHYSIOLOGY AND PHYSIOPATHOLOGY – Pathophysiology study of renal and cardiorenal diseases.

PHYSIOPATHOLOGY OF DISORDERS ASSOCIATED WITH PHYSICAL CONDITIONING – Research line brings together all researchers associated with the Physical Education area together with doctors, nutritionists and physiotherapists, aiming at monitoring the physical fitness of both competition athletes and school athletes, in addition to obese, diabetics, elderly patients and individuals in cardiovascular recovery.

PHYSIOPATHOLOGY OF NUTRITIONAL DISORDERS – To understand the mechanisms by which nutrition modifies physiological functions and the likelihood of the onset of disease.

PHYSIOPATHOLOGY IN GENETIC DISEASES AND CELL THERAPY – Investigation of polymorphisms in genes that have repeated trinucleotide sequences that can cause diseases such as Spinocerebellar ataxias, Myotonic muscular dystrophy, Huntington’s disease and Fragile X syndrome.
